Whitney (Naptural85) and her natural hair.

With 200, 000 plus YouTube subscribers and long “droolicious” natural hair, it is no wonder Naptural85 is the most popular natural hair vlogger on Youtube.

She is a favourite of mine for many reasons.

First? Her regimen.

It consists of simple basic products which when combined can be very nourishing and moisturising to hair.

Like her DIY Greek Yogurt Deep Conditioner Recipe.

2 tablespoons Greek Yogurt

Lavender Essential Oil

2 Tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar

Or her DIY Creamy Shea Butter Mixes.

Unrefined Shea Butter at Room Temperature

1 Tablespoon Coconut Oil

1 teaspoon Olive Oil

1 teaspoon Castor Oil

1 Tablespoon Jojoba Oil

1/2 teaspoon Vitamin E

Her twist outs using the flat twisting technique is what sealed the deal for me. I have very fine hair of medium density and so my twist outs from regular two strand twists can be anorexic looking and not as full or voluminous as I prefer the hair to look.  Cue in Naptural85’s video titled “How To Get Your Best Twist Out Ever”

She was right…this technique gives me my best twist out ever. One that I apply in all my flat twist adventures. See below:

Lastly, beyond the hair, Naptural85 comes across as being very warm, friendly and genuine. She connects very well with her audience and I do see her subscriptions going north from here. She is truly, truly awesome.
One thing I will point out is Naptural85 is not big on wearing protective styles and still retains a great amount of hair in the process. Probably due to her thicker texture (diameter) that can withstand outside factors better than fine hair. It is best for fine haired ladies with length retention goals to continue protective styling to get the best and quickest results.
