This is officially my last week playing with rolls, well, I may revisit them in the next few weeks but I’d really like to try and do some elegant updo’s to show what can be done with natural hair during the festive period.
This is another one of those hairstyles that you just kind of make up on the spot. I have a bit a template for this sort of thing: sides pinned away to create shape and some sort of pompadour.
With this in mind I divided my hair into 5 parts. 2 right at the back, 2 on either side and 1 at the front. I then rolled each section and pinned the ends across to the other side. So, for example, if the section was on the right side of my head I rolled it, stretched it and pinned it across to the left.
I pinned the front section to the side for a softer look than I would have achieved if I had pinned it straight back.
This sort of haphazard playing with hair and not knowing how it will turn out is one of my favourite ways to style. There is no pressure to have a perfect look and it tends to be very quick; this hairstyle took a lot less than 10 minutes to achieve.
lovely…
