So, why do I love this oil so much?
1. It really moisturises my hair. When I use coconut oil, I don’t have to oil my hair as often as when I do not use it, as my hair does not dry out as much. I think this is because it penetrates the hair shaft.
2. I feel that my hair shines more when I use coconut oil. I like the sheen that it gets, without looking greasy. Just a tiny bit rubbed on top of any style, gives great shine. This works for extensions as well as my own hair.
3. A little goes a long long way. I find that the bottle really lasts.
Coconut oil can get tricky in the cold season as it solidifies at room temperature. So, between May and August, I either run it under the hot water tap or nuke it in the microwave.
Before coconut oil, I was buying branded moisturisers that required me to apply to my hair every single day. After that, I used raw shea butter, which is great for softness, but doesn’t give the same shine as coconut oil.
In cold weather coconut oil creates white flakes in my hair.

You can buy them in the supermarket: Shoprite, Spar, Pick n Pay; as well as some of the major pharmacies or health-food shops.

You're welcome. They sell what they call hair oil (which is an essential oil mixed with castor oil) and also pure essential oils on their own.
