Ever since the ZedHair Natural Hair Show was held in April 2013, it has been on my mind to have a less formal and more regular forum to discuss natural hair. So, together with Mwanabibi, in July of this year, we held our first natural hair workshop that was focused on building a healthy hair regimen. The style was that of a support group, similar to a weight loss support group I have attended for a couple of years at SureSlim Zambia. It was therefore fitting that our first natural hair workshop (support group) was also held at SureSlim Zambia on Omelo Mumba road, where we had about 15 ladies with natural hair of varying lengths come together to talk all things natural. Unfortunately, while we had the camera in the bag, no one remembered to take it out and take pictures. This was a real pity as it was a lovely venue and was extra special being our inaugural meeting.
The August meeting was focused on hair styling. We had about 30 participants who gathered at Wild Orchid Cafe on Nangwenya road. There was also a lot of hair products and tools on sale. We had great input from fellow natural hair blogger Chiteu. For now, these meetings are invite only, but we hope to open them up to the general public soon. Enjoy the pictures.

This lady was pleasantly surprised to find that her daughter was a natural at flat twisting after a few minutes practice on Chiteu’s hair.

This was our hair on the day. A still damp flat twist and curl and an African threading stretch which became a funky style

so sad that i missed both .. so need a bonnet n heating cap lol
